They used to be decent. Then they got bought out by Endurance and things went downhill fast. First they relocated everything to the east cost on new servers. That was a nightmare for many customers, and still is. Then they started removing the free features their users had paid for and offered pay services instead. Example: No more free AWebstats, but you can pay for Webalizer now. They started spam scanning outbound email and give no notification when you get a message tossed. Limits on sent mail, limits on scripts. Great *Upgrade* huh? I ran to Hostgator fast!

Powweb used to be a great company. After changing ownership they migrated servers and adopted the policy of bad customer service, unreliability, and bad technical support. The representatives answer the phone like you are inconveniencing their lives. At one point I felt like I should apologize for being a customer. The only time they did anything for all the problems was when I called to cancel all of my accounts they offered some free service, ignoring the fact that they still had not fixed my open support tickets with them and providing no explanation for the number and length of outages. They may be cheap, but save yourself the trouble of having to switch to someone else and never sign up.

I've had trouble with the mail server (so have most people) on the same server as me. Recently Powweb screwed up one of my scripts because they thought it had been hacked (as far as my security guy can tell, there was no hack - just a Powweb error). I emailed support after my security guy fixed the script but haven't received a response (been over a week). At least they keep my site up and offer lots of bandwidth and storage space.

After several years, enough is enough. Since the big "switch" things have tanked.
